A young foundation, built for the long run.
Established in 2023 under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, Nirantarta Foundation is based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and works across India on climate change and sustainability with a particular focus on marginalised communities.

The name
Nirantarta means continuity.
Sustainable development is not a project with an end date. We chose a name that says so. Our work combines research, grassroots work and partnerships so that what we build together keeps going — soil that holds its water, skills that earn a living, and local institutions that communities run themselves.
By working first with the people most exposed to a changing climate, we aim to make sure sustainability is something that benefits every section of society, not only those who can already afford it.
